Nancy Ewing (Newing@youngartistsconservatory.org) received her Bachelor of Music in Viola, from San Francisco Conservatory of Music in 1979. She has studied violin pedagogy with violin virtuosos Roy Oakley, and Viola pedagogs, Genandy Kleyman, Paul Yarborough, and Patricia Heller. Ms. Ewing plays both viola and violin with equivalent expertise and performs with professional orchestras and symphonies all over Northern California including Sacramento, Auburn, Napa, Reno Philharmonic, San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Berkeley, Marin, and many more. Ms. Ewing has also performed abroad in the British Isles, Prague Italy, Austria, Germany, and Carnegie Hall. Her teaching experience includes the establishment of Sierra String Studio and Orchestra along with public school classes and as a rehearsal coach for various youth orchestras and workshops. Although strings are her passion, Mrs. Ewing applies her musicianship and dedication to pedagogic musical training to her piano students as well. With a wide understanding of piano and strings, Mrs. Ewing is uniquely skilled and versed in the requirements of focused piano training.
Katie Anderson (Kanderson@youngartistsconservatory.org) has been teaching music since she was sixteen, and is currently a senior at UC Davis. She is an enthusiastic teacher who believes lessons should be fun, and her students enjoy coming to their lessons each week. She wants all of her students to develop a passion for playing their instrument, and teaches them the skills to play music for both personal enjoyment and for performance at recitals and shows. She especially enjoys working with beginning students and concentrates on improving their technique, as well as having the students learn songs that they like.
David Gonzales (Dgonzales@youngartistsconservatory.org) has performed and studied the classical guitar across the United States and Italy. He recently received a Master's degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he studied with world-renowned guitarist and composer Sergio Assad. He has received numerous honors and awards as a performer, including 1st place at the 2006 Society of American Musicians Competition, which he won while earning a Bachelor's degree in music at Northwestern University. David has performed in numerous master classes with luminaries such as David Russel, Oscar Ghiglia, and Roland Dyens. He has also played in numerous rock, jazz and world music ensembles in Albuquerque and Chicago. David's teaching philosophy draws upon his wide range of musical experiences, balancing a focus on technique with developing a deep understanding of music. His goal as a teacher is to help each student find a fun and rewarding way to achieve their musical potential.

Andy Tan (Atan@youngartistsconservatory.org) Composer and violinist Andy Tan earned his B.A. and M.A. in composition at the University of California, Davis. Tan has studied with Ross Bauer, Kurt Rohde, and Mike Pelo. Tan's music has been performed by the Ariana String Quartet, The New York Music Ensemble, Empyrean Ensemble, Mercedes Gomez and the UCD Symphony Orchestra. His "Sonata Breve for Cello and Piano" was published by J.B. Elkus and Son. Other recent works include an original score for the documentary "Out of the Pass." Tan is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, and a composer in residence of the 2009-2010 Berkley Symphony under Construction concert series. He was previously a member of the San Francisco Youth Orchestra and studied violin with Dianne Nicolaris and (SF Symphony) and Micheal Sand at UC Davis.
Matt Foley (Mfoley@youngartistsconservatory.org) started studying classical guitar 7 years ago with Matthew Grasso. He is currently pursuing a BM in classical guitar performance under the direction of professor Richard Savino at California State University Sacramento. Matthew teaches guitar at Sacramento City College , Live Music Center in Vacaville , and privately. He has played in masterclasses with Jim Kline and Adam Holzman. Matthew has peformed live on Vacaville 's television channel "Access27." Matthew frequently performs in the Sacramento area as a soloist, with Trio Seven, and various other ensembles.
