Welcome to SYT - proudly under the management of Young Artists Conservatory of Music effective June 1, 2011. This transition page will provide the loyal and enthusiastic families of SYT information on how to get involved in all of our upcoming programs.
Solano Youth Theatre is the award-winning youth theatre arm of Young Artists Conservatory. SYT provides opportunities to more than 400 young people annually. Young people attend classes and participate in two fully staged Broadway musicals, two plays, and three musical theatre workshop presentations. Each season, more than 75 professional theatre artists and educators are contracted.
Participation in a SYT Munchkin production offers children and their families small class instruction and support for learning skills in the area of acting, singing and dance. Life building skills such as socialization, team building and self expression also come strongly into “play” here. Participation in a Teen Musical affords teenagers intense training in the areas of vocal production, acting, and dance technique. Every SYT production and performance will benefit from professional artistic design from the Bay Area’s best Costume, Scenic, Lighting and Sound designers while the actors perform in some of the county’s most wonderful venues.
Equally important is imparting skills that encourage students to communicate effortlessly with their peers and the adults in the room or feel confidence when stating their thoughts and perspective. We want these bright young people to be able to participate in all team activities, projects or sports with a sense of optimism, pride and ease. Theatre teaches these things and much more.
We cast and accept all interested students, 6 to 19 years old, regardless of experience, up to our enrollment limits. Our varied programs allow us to provide a safe yet exciting experience for beginning students, as well as a tougher challenge and more advanced training for “seasoned veterans.”
SYT operates year-round in Fairfield/Suisun, Vallejo/Benicia, and Vacaville.
