Artistic Director, Wanda Cook (wcook@youngartistsconservatory.org), oversees the entire conservatory by ensuring the teaching methods and performances are designed to promote a "potential achieving" culturally significant experience for both the students and the community.
Operations Manager, Christine Dobrei (cdobrei.operations@youngartistsconservatory.org), Christine attended Chico State University and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Information and Communication Studies with a Graphic Design option and Business cluster. Christine spent 11 years in advertising, marketing, branding, print and art direction, as a Designer and Visual Communications Manager for Papyrus. She has also owned her own design business since 1999. Now at Young Artists Conservatory of Music, Christine merges her artistic and business skills to create a fluid and organized environment for the students, instructors and parents as the Operations Manager. She manages the day-to-day business, bookkeeping and financial records, payroll, AP, AR, reconciliations, schedules and oversees the administrative staff.
SYT Program Director, Holli Hornlien (hhornlien.syt@youngartistsconservatory.org) joined the staff of Solano College’s Youth Theatre Division in October of 2006 as Program Coordinator and was promoted to Program Director of SYT, a Division of Young Artists Conservatory in July of 2011. For Solano College’s mainstage and Youth Theatre division, she directed award winning productions of Bye Bye Birdie, A Year with Frog and Toad, High School Musical and Footloose. She provides Artistic Direction for the Summer STAR Shakespeare Program for which she directed Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Taming of the Shrew, Macbeth and Twelfth Night. She has also directed The Jungle Book, The Mad Adventures of Mr. Toad, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and The Importance of Being Earnest for Pistarkle Theatre, US Virgin Islands; Measure For Measure, The 7 Ages of Man, and Servants and Masters for the San Francisco ShakespeareFestival; and The Pirates of Penzance for Peninsula Youth Theatre in Mountain View, California. Also a professional actress her regional theatre credits include Chicago Shakespeare Company, Goodman Theatre, Victory Gardens, Lyric Opera of Chicago, New Jersey Shakespeare Festival, Cherry Lane Theatre in NYC, Aurora Theatre Company in Berkeley and Center Rep Theatre in Walnut Creek, California. Film and television roles include the title role in The Pilot's Wife for the Oprah Winfrey Show on CBS; Primal Fear, Missing Persons, Unsolved Mysteries and several industrial films and commercials. Ms. Hornlien was educated at the Boston Conservatory of Music and holds a BFA in Acting from Emerson College.
Instrumental Arts Director, Wayne Gross (wgross.mm@youngartistsconservatory.org) is responsible for cohesion between the schools for application in multi-discipline orchestrated ensembles including Jazz Orchestras, Rock Symphonies, Rock and Jazz Bands, Concert Bands, etc. Mr. Gross scores and conducts all conservatory major orchestrated events
