Mainstage Musical is Recommended for grades 7 through 12
The Mainstage Musical allows for a 7th through 12th grade student to participate in a full-length Broadway style musical. The musicals rehearse three days a week for three hours for approximately 36 sessions. Students develop as actors, singers and dancers. As they develop their skills, they can progress from ensemble parts to leading roles. This unforgettable experience introduces them to new friends and new opportunities for learning and development. Examples of past shows include Annie, The Wizard of Oz, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Bye Bye Birdie, The Music Man, Seussical and High School Musical. Cost $325
Spring 2012: The Sound Of Music
“The Hills are alive…with the sound of Music…”
The final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein was destined to become the world's most beloved musical. When a postulant proves too high-spirited for the religious life, she is dispatched to serve as governess for the seven children of a widowed naval Captain. Upon returning from a honeymoon, the family discovers that Austria has been invaded by the Nazis, who demand the Captain's immediate service. The family's narrow escape over the mountains to Switzerland provides one of the most thrilling and inspirational finales ever presented in the theatre.
